Really enjoying Enya. Her magic spells have synergy i.e. first you use ignite, then surge (to heal the damage from ignite), then use renew-I never run out of mp. At first first i thought ignite was goofy but i keep using it. I seem to hit more enemies with ignite than blaze and since enya has mad hp and fire resist she just shakes off the damage cost. Plus her name is cool, don't tell anybody but sometimes the Shining Force ost gets muted and I bump Shepherd Moons.
 
Just finished the Prism Flower fight. Did you alter the water tiles to trap the troops, or were they always that way?

I agree with Riggel. Enya's HP pool and Ignite synergy are super cool.
Khan is still my beast. I cast attack on him and send him straight in to the horde.
Seraphim saved my butt with Aura and the high MP pool.
I like Buddy because I spam Storm to soften all the enemies up and get free XP.

I benched Urboson and Diana. They just weren't doing very well for me. With Urboson's turn order and low defense, he would always get sniped shortly after his turn.

Very soon I am going to use SFEdit to power level those that are not in my main group to see how they perform. I'm excited to see Lux from 7th Saga and a Super Saiyan bird level up. :)

Yeah I really like her. FYI enya is a phenoix and every time she dies and gets reborn she is reborn as the opposite gender. So sometimes I call her a girl and sometimes a call him a boy, and both are correct : )

Anyways her ignite is a little glitched and she doesn't learn level 2 the correct way, this has been fixed and will be the next update. (1.5).
She has some great utility spells, but she doesn't get the "Healer XP" feature, therefor she only gets 1xp from healing or restoreing MP.

Yeah if I remember right it Enya means Little Fire in irish.

Trap? I don't think so. Some of the AI/Regions are a little messed up and sometimes units will just skip their turns because of this.
Did you go normal with Enya or use the Secret book?
Khan is a powerhouse, sometimes I drop him cause he is TOO strong lol.
Seraphim is great, just keep them away from archers, they do 125% damage against flyers.
Buddy is great I like him as a mastermonk, and a power boosting item (like power ring), he can heal, spell, and gets aura later.

I usually bench Diana late game, her stats drop off a bit, but she is very versatile.

If you want to power level people, grab boost scrolls and use those, you get I think you get 25xp if you hit 5 people with them, and its not dependent if you have "Healer XP" or not.

Lux is great, I usually boost his mov, he has a special critical. Keep in mind that special critical aren't effected by status resist, so his stun works on boss like Zeon.
 
Help!

I can't re-enter Creed's Mansion. I just finished the Geshp fight and went back to Parmecia. When I enter Creed's, Kana seems to..."enter off of the map" far to the NE. I just want the 3 Creed characters.

Any thoughts?

Yes this is a known issue and will (is already) fixed in the next update.
Basically I moved the scroll shoppkeeper that sells desoul scrolls to this map so you could access him later on (since you can't go back to floor world) But messed up on some of the entries and everyone got scrambled and it teleports you instead of the shopkeeper. Until the next update comes out there is no way around this.

-Chick Portrait Fixed (When I last updated it I must have deleted its animation data)
-Character Menu Layout glitch fix (Thanks Pyro), needs further testing to confirm no issues.
-Assassin Star added to items.txt
-Rock's Starting scrolls fixed
-Taxi Crash in Tristan (after) fixed.
-Prowess Menu PDF updated.
-Fixed the softlock when you return to creeds.
-Adjusted maptiles and added in scrolls signs to thier respective buildings...

NOOOO! I was looking forward to ignite level 2. :( Was wondering why she didn't get it yet. I think shim is like level9-ish. Hey- what you think hapen if i load my save file with your new update? Glitch gremlins?

I been putting the pink underoos on me main char. Diging her pajama sprite. My daughter said someone put a lot of attention into getting her butt just right and I agree.

Big Chungus cracks me up. I'm talking about the glowing Garbage Pail Kid. I be down with DBZ but not with my Boomer Force. Chungus gonna have to sit this one out, along with Not Michelangelo.

Tried to post this earlier to CeeJay but I think I botched it....Boo.er no internet so good :(

Yeah glitch goblins all the way, each time we build the game it rearranges the hex stuff if we add anything so everything would be out of order.
In season 1 there is a monk that shows quite a bit of her butt.

Khan is insane, yeah it would be funny for him to just one-shot enemies with a stick.
Big chungus? Do you mean Chujin the bird guy? Chujin is solid and has great att and def, just watch out for archers.
I love Picasso I did all sprites him and it took me FOREVER! He is also very poweful, and everyone was saying he was OP when he was first shown.

Bummer. Oh well. I got other sprites to play with. I'm gonna have to go back and play season 1 eventually. I get the Shining itch about twice a year.

Maybe season 3 will be done when you itch comes back around in a year or two.

Chujin yeah. That's the Chungus who's mom tossed him out G.P. K. Style. I remember when I was a kid I made my own DBZ Vegita character for a table top x men game I used to play. I made a quality card stock with his stats and I painted a figurine....it was goofy then and it's goofy now.

I told a lie about Not Michelangelo....he's on the force. Guilty pleasure. The sprite work looks professional. Him and Khan are op. I don't buy them weapons to nerf them.

I just got an idea for a char. He's a swordsman who is equiped with a " wooden stick " he's so bad ass that he refuses to equip a real sword. In practice he functions more like Gerhalt or Zylo. Incidentally this is the true story of the famous swordsman Miamato Musashi as related in his book, The Five rings. Dude, proportedly fought his latter duals with a wooden practice sword. And one time with an oar. But I digress.

I'll give a run down semi-tier list style of the characters when I'm done.
What Mithril items have been altered? I RNG manipulated the Titan Hammer for Khan. +2 Mov, very nice.
Which items do what? For some reason I never tried actually using Dragon's Breath until recently. Blaze 4 is nice!

I had an interesting thing happen during the Kumiko fight. Khan was going nuts. A Pyrohydra attacked him twice, Khan dodged the first. Then countered with a Critical. The game kind of sat there for a second like it was thinking. A similar thing happened later when Khan did a double attack with a Critical while under the attack spell. I thought the game froze because the screen paused for 5 whole seconds.

It has to do with the animations and having certain effects on where the animations take bit to run through them, its kinda hard to explain.

Lots of items have been altered, check the file 05-items.txt in the zip file, but here is the run down.


--Weapons with changes-
Misty Knuckles now have Drain 2

Rune Axe has Detox 2

Storm Hammer has Storm 1
Thunder Hammer has Storm 2
Titan Hammer has +2 Mov, +1 Crit
Galam Hammer has Surge 2
Evil Hammer has the ATT & +10 DEF, but -3 Mov & Cursed

Grand Cannons has Blast 3

Achilles Swords has Surge1 (and can't break)
Taros Sword can be equipped.

Valkyrie has Attack 2
Holy Lance has Spirit 1

Indra Staff has Drain 2
Wish Staff Attack 2
Great Rod Renew 2
Supply Staff Drain 3
Holy Staff Surge 1 (and auto renews 5HP)
Mystery Staff Renew 1 (and auto renew 2MP)
Demon Rod Drain 4

Ninja Star is Ranged 3

Check the document for the full list and for all the rings as well.
 
Ah, I forgot about the document. I was able to get the Ninja Star for Shadow. :)

Kana - A-B tier - Carried me quite a bit through early to mid-game. Really had to babysit her at the end. Attack 4 is really useful.
Aurora - S tier - Her float and spells made her incredibly versatile and saved my butt many times.
Kahn - S tier - He is definitely OP. I loved that I could send him up front and tank a ton of hits.
CJ (Baron) - A - Good Attack and Defense. Gave him the Force Sword and White Ring
Charlie - B - Ranged version of Gong. Just like Gong, I always wanted to like him but the low MP and average stats make him less useful.
Diana - C - I wanted to like her as well, but her stat growth after promotion is still pretty low. I like the versatility of having an attack spell
Vay (OKNT) - S - Holy cow, Vay got me through so many obstacles. Gave her the Stallion Belt and Mist Javelin. I loved having her soak up Bolt spells in the end
Seraphim - A - Seraphim's MP pool and spells saved many battles for me, especially the Prism Flower fight.
Buddy (DISC) - A - Had him cast Storm and sit off to the side. He could punch well if I needed him to.
Picasso - B - Got me past mid-game until I got Toro. Useful character and great sprites.
Lapis - A - Lapis sniped so many important targets with Ice 4. She didn't need any extra movement for me. :-)
Enya - A - His/Her MP pool and spells made them incredibly useful. They could actually take a hit which made me happy
Shadow - S - Amazingly high attack. Gave him Ninja Star and Attack spell. One-shot many of the end game enemies. Do 150 damage to Zeon was nice too
Urboson - D - Wanted to like him. Couldn't. His turn order made it so he could sneak in for a hit, but would IMMEDIATELY get destroyed by the next enemy move.
MP - B - Good character! Loved the high attack and prowess. I got too attached the previously mentioned characters to put him in.
Rulakir - A - He destroyed pretty much everything. Liked the balance of him having less Defense
Thursday - A (B) - High move and attack coupled with that Amulet makes her a one-punch centaur. (B) rank for Centaur movement through rough terrain
Chujin - A - A bird unit that doesn't suck? Very nice! As I said before, I got too attached to everyone else to switch him in. :)
Lux - B - Decent unit. Low Move and Average Attack and Defense make it hard to use him.
Drew - C - I preferred the regular elemental spells this time around. Suffered from the same fate as Urboson
Rock - A - Super fun unit! Love the spells and utility. Especially love his prowess.
Maldius - B - Great Defense, Ok Attack.
Toro - A - Reminds me of Musashi from SF1. :) Great unit. AWESOME sprite work.
Renard - B - Much better than the vanilla archers. There were several moments in the final battles I wish I had him in
Milyana - C - Decent spells. Average HP, MP, Attack. Low Defense.
Erin and Mishaela - A / B - Good characters and decent stats. I can see myself using them in future playthroughs.

GREAT hack! I have tried some of the other SF2 hacks and never made it through. This was super fun. One of my favorite aspects is the addition of additional pain in the butt enemies. e.g.: The Goblin Scouts and various Fungi.

Very excited for Season 3!

Glad you enjoyed it and were able to play through it.
I also have a hard time swapping out current characters for some of the new ones. You just get so attached to them.
Love to see that you enjoyed some that I didn't use as much and didn't care for others that I really do.

Did you do the final secret battle (after the witch scene)
