About this patch
Reduces the intensity of some rapidly flashing/pulsating visual effects to reduce the risks of
experiencing seizures for photosensitive people.
A bit of history: The Genesis Mini re-release of Shining Force already incorporated one such
improvement by reducing the brightness of screen wide flashing effects for a few spells.
This patch further improves on it by applying the modification to all spells.
Additionally, my fellow Shining Force II hacker, Wiz, has developed a patch to tone down the
pulsating effect that represents the range of movement/targeting of units on the battlefield,
which I re-implemented in the first game.
Installation
Intended for use with the North American version of the game (and as far as I know, this should
also be compatible with most hacks out there.)
Use your favorite IPS patching utility, such as Lunar IPS or Flips, to apply the included
"sf1-antiepileptic-improvements.ips" file onto a non-interleaved ROM (i.e., not SMD format.)
For your convenience, an anti-patch is also provided which will effectively remove this patch
when applied.
